
As principal shareholder of Rosen & Associates, P.C., Sanford Rosen leads the firm’s specialized bankruptcy law team and brings his knowledge of law and practice and his values of quality and efficiency to bear on all the firm’s work. Sandy has dedicated his career to practicing insolvency law in the New York metropolitan area. He is known and recognized for his bankruptcy expertise and his effective and successful handling of clients’ matters. Backed by over 40 years of experience, he adeptly represents clients in Chapter 11 cases, out-of-court restructurings, bankruptcy-related acquisitions and insolvency-sensitive transactions and investments. Sandy has extensive debtor and creditor-side experience, and represents all non-debtor constituents in Chapter 11 cases, including lenders, landlords, tenants, asset acquirors, claims purchasers, bondholders and other institutional creditors, as well as officers and directors. Sandy’s bankruptcy-related litigation experience includes representation of parties on both sides of preferential transfer and fraudulent conveyance claims. He also regularly represents trustees appointed under Chapters 7 and 11 of the Bankruptcy Code.
Recently, Sandy represented the purchaser of the assets and business of Bumble Bee Foods, LLC, one of the world’s largest, branded, shelf-stable, seafood providers, in a $928 million transaction.
Sandy writes on industry-related topics, and annually co-authors articles for Norton Journal of Bankruptcy Law on scholarly issues, including sovereign immunity, supplemental jurisdiction under the Bankruptcy Code, and the interplay between lien preservation and section 363 sales. He is a sought-after expert and speaks on numerous panels presented by the American Bankruptcy Institute, and other organizations.
Sandy’s outstanding performance in the legal profession is acknowledged by his clients and individuals and institutions in the industry. His recognitions include being named as a New York Super Lawyer every year from 2011 to the present, consistently receiving the highest peer review rating award of AV Preeminent from Martindale-Hubbell© and being included on the New York Times list of the New York metropolitan area’s top attorneys.
